Native plantings and microclover lawn in a Brooklyn backyard

Less work. Same cost.
More habitat.

Planting clover and native lawns in New York City.

Why Rooted

We believe every square foot of NYC deserves to be alive.

Native landscaping shouldn't be a luxury. It should be the default.

Curb appeal

A yard worth coming home to.

Layered, seasonal, intentional. Coneflowers, black-eyed Susan, bee balm, microclover. The kind of yard neighbors stop and ask about.

Environment

Built for the city it belongs to.

Every plant native to the Northeast. No synthetic chemicals. Pollinators come back, soil rebuilds, the city wins.

We recently completed a backyard makeover with Rooted. Our project included replacing our existing lawn space with a variety of native species & clover, a new patio & stairs, and fencing. Rooted's specialty is in providing native lawn replacements, but they also did a great job meeting all of the items on our wishlist including masonry and fencing. In addition to doing a great job on the backyard, the Rooted team was respectful coming in and out of our home, handled clean-up before leaving, and felt like people we could trust. We're thrilled with how everything came out and recommend them for anyone considering a similar project.
